OT for today: Romance - lost art or just plain dead?

OK Family,
I know I don't post a lot, but this one got me to thinkin....  For Romance to be dead, it had to have existed in the first place, right?  What's killing it?  Do you think that we women are accepting less than the best, so then the men don't have to produce it?  If just one woman encourages texts like "Can I hit it tonight", does it make men feel like that's what they're supposed to do?  I know I was once a woman who accepted less than the best because I thought I wasn't worth the effort of a man who wanted to wine me and dine me... Did I make it harder on the rest of us because I accepted that treatment?  My ex bought me a $4 bottle of body spray from Walgreens for my 23rd b-day while he pulled up in a fresh new pair of Jordans.  So maybe he was just an a**hole, but is it my doing that he's treating his current lady that same way?

I don't know... I think my acceptance of poor treatment or lack of romance has contributed to the loss romance today...So, I'm not fully responsible for the slow death of romance, but I may have shot that mofo in the knee...

Just my 2 cents..... what say you, family?

AMEN!!!!  you sho right and got a GREAT dayum point!!!!

People will RISE to the level of your expectations - so stop setting the bar on the ground and allowing them to WALK OVER IT.........

we need to add pole valuting BACK into the 'how to get a woman' olympics - AND reseat the judge panel - WE have let too much go for too long......

NOW - lemme do a 'flip-a-rachi' on you......

How romantic are YOU in return?  A man has to feel like he's da man and pump his chest out about his woman, too, right?

I think I'm a serious romantic...HOWEVER, I have learned to squash that feeling because I feel like you (the man) have to show me what you're working with before I let you get in on this, pahtnah!!

But on the real... I try (I'm a work in progress) not to expect more from my man than I'm willing to give.  I'm all for the romance...candles, soft music...surprise tickets to the football game, you name it!

Preach!!!  I do think we accept terrible treatment more times than not, and then wonder why we are misserable.  I agree with Dr. Phil when he said that we teach people how to treat us.  Romance is a two way street.  We must give to get.  Also, many men are lost when it comes to romance.  They don't know what to do or how to do it.   They may know the cheezy stuff, but what would touch their ladies heart...totally clueless.  So I believe we should tell them, openly and in a straight forward mannor, what we like, need and want.  Then if they drop the ball, there are no excuses (for them or for us).

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...

For me - it was fear of saying something and the mofo leaving me - I fought a fear of being alone like CRAZY - but I know now that men....they are like busses..... stay at the stop and another will be along REALLLLL soon........

Amen, Amen!!  I have done the same thing!  I think we all have and it's really no joke.  Now...regarding the bus situation...much like a bus, as is true of men, usually the next one that comes along is funkier than the first!!!
